TRENDwood ...or COPYwood?

If somebody asks you , which year do u think an Indian film will win an academy award, what will u say? I would say"i would rather not say". The film industry which produces maximum number of films in the world still believes in producing commercial films which are more of a business prospects for producers than a work of art. Directors opt for a simple formula film with a romantic love story, dhink chyak music, action in the air and emotional happy ending. I mean, how many of the crew or artists of a Salman movie can proudly say that yes ....this is my best work. Why cant the power houses of Indian film industry dare to step out of their shell and create a film which symbolizes only its main theme and not the usual masala movie?
Some of you might say no, there had been some artistic movies over the years focusing on different issues. but, to my observations most of these movies were small budget movies, which were and are produced in that fashion because they had a small budget. Some of these even did well on box office, but my point is why we don't see big production houses who has the financial boosters hiring quality actors and making an quality film? Some of them also tried to pretend to have made one of such films, but as usual they measured negligible on quality scale and vast on commercial scale. The thing i don't understand is, why do they have to have a love story blended in every movie? Take for instance a movie of an renowned Indian superstar who is playing a super hero in the movie releasing soon. people were expecting a sci fi movie with lots of action. now, when promos appeared hero was shown romancing his heroin, singing songs for her, then marrying her and having kids. I mean why cant he just be the super smart and powerful superhero who fights bad guys? And the romance stuff was not shown as necessary supporting part but as a major deal of the movie. And about the songs, why every time? why for every occasion? why for once every 20 minutes? I appreciate the songs and often like them but i would love to sit in a theater for 2 hours without hearing any needless songs. These days they even launch music way before they launch movie. The purpose is to start with hit music so that even if the movie is a big suck up, people would at least come to see two love birds flying around.
Coming to action flicks, are these action films or a lesson for us as of how concept of gravity is a myth and Newton was a biggest fool. And i have a major problem with rohit shetty... whats with the flying cars? are we in 2050 already? I guess he should export material which jumps in air as soon as u touch them to aircraft manufacturers. Some other bizarre examples were concept of a memory chips which fits in human brain, a red chip for feeding evil emotions to a robot. The second one was a real LOL moment. How can u correlate red color so called as "dangerous color" to dangerous robot? is it like because the outer portion of chip was red its hazardous chip. If it was either blue, green or yellow, the chip would have been just fine. Talking about the sport movies, let me tell u directors u can make big bucks from a total stupid love story but u cannot fool Indian crowd on a cricket based storyline. I mean, How are we suppose to believe that a batsman can hit six on every single delivery he faces. what a big fat lie! just learn from very few successful films like lagaan and aashayein. attention to details people! The comedy ones doesn't bother me so much. even if the acts are insane, they make no sense at all, but as long as u laugh.... who cares?
there are so many technical aspects present in production of a movie that we haven't even heard of, so the technology has a major role to play. If the budget is heavy then why not use these modern aids rather than wasting money on 50 different romantic locations. Of course this kind of turn over can only be expected from top producers and directors. Fear of failure puts shackles on creativity and forbids them from surprising the audience. I read this inspiration quote in a movie, Hollywood undoubtedly "If the change is needed, then the ones who has the ability to take action has responsibility to take action". I still hope i will live to see some Indian director grab one of those shiny gold knight statues one day announcing that Indian films industry from now onward will not be known only for its quantity but quality as well.

Want to see a magic trick?

Don't read it out loud... "Avada Kedavra" or somebody will die. No i m not advertising the upcoming last part of Harry potter series, which is scheduled to be screening on 15Th July by the way, this is actually an attempt to push you in the world of wizardry. Now if you are in, do some magic...ohh ,i guess you should first know what magic is. Its art disappearing things from the sight instantly and making them reappear from nowhere. Basically its actions forbidding all the laws of physics and which makes guys like Newton and Einstein wanna kill themselves....doesn't matter they are already dead. So lets start with magic. Does it really exist? And not some kind of illusion, in real way.
Yes it does. And its not in magician's wand. No, its in every man's brain when he realizes he has disappointed and loses any hope, its in his heart when he gathers all his energy to put one last effort, and its in his eyes when he gazes upon the horizon which is far from his reach but has decided to march towards it anyway. Magic to me is in the legs of the runner who has fallen, but still gets up and sprints to the finish line. magic to me lies in guns of a brave battalion, who has seen most of its men dead, but still standing on its ground, determined to cut through every piece of enemy flesh and snatch the victory from a lion's den. Magic to me is in the fighting spirit of the team who has come from a total downfall and going on to win a match. when all chips are down, practically no chance of making it through, The one who gets up, gets up to challenge all odds is a true magician and the did is called the MAGIC! the complete definition with examples, i m an engineer after all.
Every one of us can be a wizard. There are some powers gifted to us. you have got the wand as in a human heart which has unconquerable will to succeed and the spells as in the never dying flame of hope. our scientist friends have discovered sources of energy in food and air but have they been able to explain the source of a man's will? an inner source which is infinite, abundant but closed. It is the source of our actions which has surprised everyone and deemed as a miracle. so guys lets create miracles, swing your wands, cast your spells but not everyone dares to do so.dare to challenge and dare to rise. As long as you don't give up, you can turn around tables. human mind is capable of doing wonders. Not that you can touch the sky but expect the unexpected. As they say and with a little twist IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING* (conditions apply)

New game, New rules

The teenager years of our life brings us lot of goody packages. at the age of 16 we are officially approved to drive a vehicle, then we drive the bike to enter college at the age of 17, after a year we are allowed to cast our 1st vote. In following years many of us have their 1st i love you proposal, mostly girls of course. and just when think you can not get enough of your passionate college life and friends, there it is, At the age of 21, the opportunity you have been waiting for. knock, knock....who is it? Its the million dollar paper, The offer letter. Thus begins the process of most talked about transformation from jeans and T-shirt to ironed formals, from a college desk to a bench, form a classroom to a cubical, from every day's Sunday format to tight 9-6 schedule, the transformation of a student into a professional.
I still remember the first day at MIT, lot of things were uncertain. but i knew that when i will graduate from this renowned institution, i will have a degree and an offer letter from a reputed firm with a healthy salary. now most of those things have come true, although one can never be satisfied with the salary part. when asked by an interviewer about our long term goals most of us must have said i want to be a team leader by the age i m 30. well, does any one us know how to get there? And am sure you wont get the answer the way we get it to 99% of our questions, google it. And of course the over smart pundits of our class, they will tell you how to influence the people around you and sneak through to fool the system, but my friends its not the dumb college internet firewall anymore, its the world where you are useful not by your skills but only by your contribution. The promotion to the upper class is not mandatory, the world where you can not carry your backlogs to the future, but you must pass them at each step with flying colors. There are no friends anymore, now they are your competition. the world where each sentence with a CAN will be replaced with a MUST. the world where your potential and your future will not be decided by hard work you do but by the your ability to make decisions and your persistence to support them.
until now we have seen ourselves as a learner segment of the system. we were taught, we were guided, we were build to be a part of creditable and responsible society. now the construction is complete, new batch of young and aspirant men is ready. all those moral, social and curriculum values which were imparted on us in the course of 20 years, now is the time to prove yourself worthy and use them for welfare of the people. its the payback time. for every language you learned, every circuit you have build, every project that u have completed working for countless sleepless nights now is the time to create something big for which generations will be thankful for and then you will say, yes i build that. there are no books now, no bounded syllabus its the world where you can define things as you want to. you can shape them as you would like to. so, ignite your mind fellows, let your imaginations fly, fortune's smiling upon you, grab it and live it.
we had our curriculum backing us all the time throughout our academic career. now, there are no marks, there are no grades. all the high scores and distinction you got are nothing but a just a preliminary criteria. when you will join the company there will be no difference between a topper and an average student. once you have entered in a professional organisation your college, university are merely irrelevant. so, before you step into a world with only one rule, only the strong ones survive ,buckle up boys. ready your guns, the game RESTARTS!

The trend that is INDIA.

India is my country. all Indians are my brothers and sisters........ In 10 years of my school life everyday i revised my national oath. That made very little sense then, but some part of me trusted that India is great, even though not the greatest but will be,some day. is that dream or should i say fantasy coming true? does India 's future looks like its golden past? are we seeing the glimpses of the country that will be the power house of 21st century?

well, obviously i m not going to discuss the economic and political views of progressing India and in no way i am capable of. lets bring some light on people of future India. as reported by US, India is the 3rd most powerful nation on the globe. sure you know that because that was my facebook status few days ago and half of readership of this blog come from my friendliest. so the point is,how? the only thing we heard of that India topped excluding cricket was population list. well, yes that is the most of the reason India managed to reach this stage. India got the human resource, not just enough of it, but excess of it. it is the most basic ingredient for any task. if you need the proof, just scoop though the us report. who's 2nd? its china, our only unbeaten opponent in race of reproduction of human resource. how do we symbolize a nation, by its people. imagine Greece, i bet you see a man with white circular crown standing besides a roman palace. Chinese, hard working people who can barely look through their small eyes. African, negro people in the woods. change in countrymen implies changes in the country. i wonder what has changed with us, and what will? i guess not much and i don't want much.

The thing i am referring to is preserving an identity. it is that which makes you special. India is always known for its cultural heritage and fascinating history of king and kingdoms. this should be the one of most common statement you hear while reading about India. may be because thats the best we had. not any more, castles turned into sky scrappers, battlegrounds turned into IT firms and power industries. still there are lot of things we did not let go off, they were worth preserving. The people here don't get happy with arrival of autumn, they wait for diwali and eid. we celebrate with people, we share share our joy and sorrow with people, we live in real society. The young generation might think the other way, but i m sure our roots aren't that feeble to be cut by western waves. as long as we don't change India wont change. even if we touch the skies, and no doubt we will,we are bound to remain down to earth, down to MOTHER INDIA.

when i talk about traditions, eliminate those ones which made us ashamed of ourselves, those ones which were made by some selfish people for sake of their own good and those ill fated incidences which made enemies of each other. there are some strings which are pulling us back, but we will overcome our flaws. 63 years since birth of free and democratic India, we have come a long way. we never tried to washed our trails, while chasing the future. with more than one fourth population still Below Poverty Line, we are no. 3. you never know what will happen when 1.1 billion Indians come alive. watch upon us world, here we come...

May the dream come true

whats your goal in the life? Thats The interviewer's fixed one of the test of the overall personality questions. most of us must have a ready answer for it. mine would be to be at managerial position in one of the leading firms, and thus bring happiness to my family. interviewer would be quite satisfied by that answer, but really? that is my dream?
if there are two categories like feasible dreams and non-feasible dreams....non feasible dreams includes kissing a celebrity or whatever you wanna do with them etc. etc. my dream(the 2nd type of course) is to play each and every outdoor sport in international conditions on most beautiful grounds, at least once. and The DREAM ULTIMATUM is to face brett lee on SCG in front of packed mumbai crowd, with The sachin on non striker end. wow, mere imagination forced my heart to run with speed of B. lee's deliveries!
The world of dreams! quite incredible, isn't it? we can be whatever we want, whenever we want. i really envy Leonardo DiCaprio, the inception star who made living in dreamworld possible( at least in movies).

Old is gold...New's worth more

The British game is evolving day by day in its modern home India. with the introduction of riotous form of cricket e.i. T20, the saints of the game are raising questions about survival of T20's forefather TEST cricket. well,if you ask me i would love to play a test cricket match, and would like to watch a T20 clash.
The 3 hour form of game certainly added incredible value to the game. when its about cricket, excitement at every moment is unanimously supposed. with every ball bowled, every shot played spectators enjoy. there is absolute no redundancy. Tests cricket has its own juice. you would never get see the excitement on the field that is every player's mind playing a test match. its not fear...its not a peak level of emotions...its a relaxed state.its like when you remove time vector from 3D it just gets simpler. The T20 lives in the moment, in every bit of it. Test cricket is a test your character, test of your patience. T20 demands courage, teaches you to fight until you loose.
some senior advisers of cricket are criticizing furious styles of play, which are winning matches for teams, and also hearts of spectators but seems to them are of no quality. batsman averaging lesser but with perfect strike rates are the heroes of new game. these men in result are unknowingly creating a wave of dislike amongst fans for players with slow batting rates. bhai Jo chamakta hai wahi bikata hai. then why wouldn't former idols criticize the coming trend of "be the bold, be the best". well let me tel you sir( on a statement by former WI legend that keiron pollard is not a batsman) smashing 90% of deliveries faced in an 90% innings is not an old man's job!!
you will never be a batsman or bowler, until you are a player, The one who respects The game. Test cricket will remain in hearts and minds of true cricketer, and will never be clouded by any format.T 20 have its prospects and the energy. where you need to play 99% of your game correct to win a Test match, you would have to play 100% to win a T20 game.

The myth is out of reach

human species are supposed to be the most intelligent animals on the earth....is that true? who made us? an accident? or an experiment? or the miracle of the holy GOD!! the existence of the almighty always puzzled the human beings. some say there are infinite gods in the universe. he lies in every bit of matter, livings non-livings, to the last point of a human vision and perhaps beyond that too. some believe he born several thousand years ago. i believe, the birth of the humanity and the their survival for millions of years isn't just a coincidence! there is some force somewhere en-lighting us,watching us and guarding us.

The human way of understanding the god is just a humble effort to thank him for his belovedness. how can you imagine the art to understand an artist? its just far beyond ones reach. it doesn't imply that, all of our mythological characters as explained epics like GITA, MAHABHARATA and RAMAYANA are fiction. The epics are supposed to be written by great saints in that age only, and they were passed on to next generations verbally. as the theory of god lives in everything proposed, there should be a fraction of infinite spirit in everyone of us. If we consider god to be perfect one, there should be a trillionth part of one which resides in every living being. Just like our percentile grading system, The one with highest marks is considered as hundred percent, perfect. one below him is less brilliant than topper, but same time second person is more intelligent than others. The ancient saints are some level above than a normal human. that's why they are more capable of understanding the all knowing. The teachings of these monks have made us to appeal that one trillionth part of god and walk on path of godliness.

As the old saying, the darkness does not exist, its just absence of light. Demons are not the creation of him, its just absence of belief in GOD.
